Who here has a record player? They are the best things ever. My friend Sam has one and I really like it. They are the best because you can listen to all of the oldies from the rhythm to folk and classical music. It is neat to hear the old records the way they used to be played.

There are many per writing techniques that have help me over the years but the one I like and also has help me best prepare me on my papers. It is an outline and I try to make it the most deleted as I can. Also the brain storming has work for me to but it all depends on the topic for the paper. The analysis paper I will use is the music lyrics paper. This was because I got a good score and it also helps show that I am ready to move on to English 201.

The article that I picked is called “Cell phones and Driving” and it was from the Insurance Information Institute Web site http://www.iii.org/media/hottopics/insurance/cellphones/ .The article is very helpful for my paper. The article has a lot of facts that help show how much the cell phone affects humans while driving. It has many facts on talking on the phone and also how especially dangerous it is to text while driving. Here are some of the reasons why talking or texting when driving is a bad habit. First the driver is taking his eyes of the road for 10 seconds to dial the phone number. Second is that “people can become so absorbed in their conversations that their ability to concentrate on the act of driving is severely impaired, jeopardizing the safety of vehicle occupants and pedestrians.” There are many different facts for accidents and the number of people that uses cell phones. They is also some history from 2006 and information on different laws. Some information that caught my attention for the article was a survey that was released in August 2009. It showed that 82% of people are in favor of having a ban on talking on the phone well driving as well as the fact that 80% said that they would change their cell phone talking habits while driving. Another major fact is the numbers of crashes that involved drivers that were talking or texting on cell phones. In January, 2010 the National safety council (NSC) released a report that estimates that there are at least 1.6 million crashes, or about 28% of all crashes are caused by drivers distracted by cell phone use -talking on the cell phone, 1.4 million crash’s were while talking and 200,000 done while texting. It also pointed out that many businesses now prohibit their employees from using phones while driving as well, afraid that they could be sued as well if an employee has an accident while driving and talking on company time.

I am going to choice the Cruelty, Civility, and other Weighty Matters. I Agree with what Ann Marie Paulin says though out here Essay. Some of the reasons why i agree i have some friends that do go through how there mom and dad breaking then down and call them fat. It is really sad how this effect the kid and i have seen this first hand. Just like Ann said “Fat people are assumed to be lazy,stupid, ugly,lacking in self-esteem and pride,devoid of self-control, and stuffed full of a host of other unpleasant qualities that have nothing to do with the size of the person’s belly or thighs”. This is because I now some overweight people that are the not that. they work and are very strong people then most thin people. I have also have some guys friends that are fit and in shape but are really lazy and lack in self-esteem and self-control .

Here is my cat. The cat is named Cleats, but we just call her Cleats. We named her this is because she has four white feet. She also has a tiny soft soccer ball that she plays fetch with. So since soccer shoes are called cleats, that’s how she got her name. I also like the little sign that she is holding. I think that she misses me because whenever I go home to visit she either brings her ball to play fetch or waits for me to sit down and comes to lay in my lap.

I believe that Barry is the the one that show the best stereotypes of men. The movie show him as the the big muscle man that is a ass hole. Movie Stereotypes

My Movie I pick is Dongeball

The two main men are Peter Lafleur (Vince Vaughn) and White Goodman (Ben Stiller). Some of the main stereotypes that this movie show is one white is a leader of a gym that is really big and cost a lot to go to. And for Peter he is the leader of Average Joe Gym. White is in shape and while Peter is fat and overweight. White friend group is all big strong muscle group men that like they are on steroids. Next with Peter he friends include a fat old man with spots glass that he way all the time. Next guy dress up like a pirate. Next is a small skinny guy that does cheerleading and is not very good at anything. It even get worse the other guys are out of shape black man and a skinny man that is slow when you come and talk to him. The next guy is one of the guy cheerleaders on college cheerleading squad. The guy has the hot head cheerleader that every guy is going for. The guy asks like a stereotype jock. Mean cocky and teat other like shit.

Next is the woman. The main woman in the movie is Kate. She work out a bank and she also work with tax law. In the movie she is show as a hot sexily object for the men on the average Joe team. Also when she play with the team the men joke and say she like only woman all because she does thing that surprised then one example is when she pick up the a dodge ball and throw its under hand and hit the head of a cardboard White Goodman cut out. They all show many change as the movie goes along.

This is a piece from my paper. This is one of my pargh that I compare the song to everyday life. The song is called “Lonesome kicker”.

One example is in kicking a field goal, and forgetting to add the extra yardage. Many times the extra work that goes into what a person does is not counted in. Many times the extra work that went into project or job isn’t seen by others- and some don’t care. The TV show Undercover Boss is a good example that people really do a lot more in their jobs than they get credit for. Another fact of life is that sometimes people don’t do their job. And when the kicker gets blamed for a blocked kick, Sandler adds,” it was the left guard who didn’t pick up his man” This relates to everyday life, how often times hard work done by others are overlooked, and sometimes it isn’t the fault of the person we are mad at, but someone else who didn’t do their job first. Many times the extra work that went into project or job isn’t seen by others- and some don’t care. Many times people make excuses for not doing what they should. In the song it talks about how the kickoff can be so scary. Afraid to tackle the return man, the kicker “pretend to tie my shoe”. This is a metaphor for those people that see a problem in life and make excuses for taking easy way out, avoiding the problem. The last example of a metaphor for life is the last line of the song, “going for two”. While the kicker is ready to do his job, some things are out of his control, like the coach going for tow points instead of the PAT. Sometimes no matter how hard you prepare in life, things happen that are out of your control.

Mostly uses the logos because it has a lot of information. But also uses a lot of pathos to. This can be seen in how the story is a sad and happy report. And the least is the ethos.

So I was looking to do the homework this weekend and I could not find text from a book. My response is going to be from the song lyrics are on the class blog.

These two lines “sometimes life surprises” and “‘because you never expected to be that”, made me remember. When I read those two lines I was thinking of my brother. My brother was a DI athlete having played soccer for three years at Oregon State. One morning he woke up and he could not move his arm up above his shoulder. No one saw this coming. He would not be able to play and do normal things without pain for over a year. He is not alone when things go bad. Along with the pain he is experiencing, and the unexpected change in his life the past year there are many others in the same pain or worse.
